To answer your question, it is very soon. The East Idaho State Fair will run from September 1 – 9. But we’ll do you one better. What to do
There is no shortage of things to do at the East Idaho State Fair. You’ll find free daytime events such as horse pulling and barrel racing. There are also big events like the Indian Relay National Championships.
For some good fun, check out the carnival. Butler Amusements is the largest carnival company in the Western United States and provides the fun this year. See the website for carnival prices and the ride list.
Other free events include Meet the Animals, an interactive exhibit for all ages. You can milk a cow, watch chickens hatch, and more. Who to see
You will likely recognize many of the big names that will be coming through the East Idaho State Fair this year. From comedians to magicians to musicians, the entertainment is no-holds-barred this year. For many of these, you’ll need to have tickets, so the time to act is now.
Comedians Jeff Foxworthy and Bill Engvall will perform the nights of September 1 and September 7. You can get tickets to both of these hilarious shows starting at just $49!
For all you hard rockers out there, catch a show from legendary Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Joan Jett and The Blackhearts. Regualr grandstand seats start at just $34. Sing along to hits like “I Hate Myself For Loving You,” “I Love Rock and Roll,” and “Bad Reputation.”
Another concert will come to the free stage. Branch & Dean are a country duo who have been everywhere from the CMA Red Carpet to a recent concert in Rexburg. The only thing better than a concert is a free concert. Check them out!
Overall, entertainers come for all different interests. Master Hypnotist Tyzen will leave you awestruck and laughing with his show. Sword swallower Dan Meyer will leave you on a razor’s edge. What to eat
What’s a state fair without an enormous amount of food? The East Idaho State Fair delivers in that regard as well. To cover them all would be hard enough to write about, but try eating them!
You’ll see burgers, desserts, drinks, and a whole lot of deep-fried everything. It is custom for the American state fair to have a burger with donuts instead of buns…be on the lookout for that!
Besides the annual food contest, there is also the eating contest that you may want to watch or even participate in!
