Many have tried their hand at becoming a local DJ due to the large amount of college students in the Rexburg area. But where many have tried, many have failed. Cody Lee, who goes by his stage name DJ Yane, does not plan to be a one-hit-wonder in this small, but growing town. Lee started out when he was just 17 in southern California where he attended high school, but has since learned the tricks of the trade from other lighting and sound professionals. After moving to Rexburg to attend school, he has been able to purchase his own equipment and collaborate with other local companies.
His latest collaboration is with DJ AndX and Epic Sound Productions to host a 18+ glow party in the old Madison Jr. High building on Main Street. Andy Johnson of AndX Entertainment first contacted Lee after seeing a Facebook ad that Lee had created to help build his following. They instantly started working together on wedding and parties.”When we first met, we talked for quite a while about our love of entertaining others with music.” After working with AndX Entertainment, Johnson introduced Lee to Matt Jorgensen of Epic Sound productions. “Matt shares my passion for loud music and crazy lighting effects, so we naturally clicked.”
The party this Friday is one you definitely won’t want to miss! Lee said they’re bringing amazing stage and lighting effects including projectors, CO2 cannons, and plenty of bass.But most importantly, they’re going to provide you with amazing music to dance to. I asked Lee what we can expect, and he said, “We have some of the most talented DJs in the area playing on Friday. They all know how to play exactly what the crowd will best respond to.”
