But perhaps none tells the story of our town and the West in general as the Teton Storytelling & Arts Festival, taking place at Riverside Park on Saturday, August 19.

Not only is it the first year for the festival, but it coincides with one of the largest events this area has ever seen. People from all over will be flooding the valley, and the Teton Storytelling & Arts Festival is a great way to showcase a little bit about what our area is about.

The festival will feature storytelling and art, but also live music, entertainment, and food. Here is a little of what you can expect.[/vc_column_text][divider line_type=”Full Width Line” line_thickness=”1″ divider_color=”default” custom_height=”75″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” overlay_strength=”0.3″][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” width=”1/1″ tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”][vc_raw_html]JTNDZGl2JTIwc3R5bGUlM0QlMjJwb3NpdGlvbiUzQXJlbGF0aXZlJTNCaGVpZ2h0JTNBMCUzQnBhZGRpbmctYm90dG9tJTNBNTYuMjUlMjUlMjIlM0UlM0NpZnJhbWUlMjBzcmMlM0QlMjJodHRwcyUzQSUyRiUyRnd3dy55b3V0dWJlLmNvbSUyRmVtYmVkJTJGSDkyV1Y3eWU2V3clM0ZlY3ZlciUzRDIlMjIlMjB3aWR0aCUzRCUyMjY0MCUyMiUyMGhlaWdodCUzRCUyMjM2MCUyMiUyMGZyYW1lYm9yZGVyJTNEJTIyMCUyMiUyMHN0eWxlJTNEJTIycG9zaXRpb24lM0FhYnNvbHV0ZSUzQndpZHRoJTNBMTAwJTI1JTNCaGVpZ2h0JTNBMTAwJTI1JTNCbGVmdCUzQTAlMjIlMjBhbGxvd2Z1bGxzY3JlZW4lM0UlM0MlMkZpZnJhbWUlM0UlM0MlMkZkaXYlM0U=[/vc_raw_html][vc_column_text]

Nationally renowned storytellers will headline the event. These include Kim Weitkamp, Bil Lepp, Sam Payne, and Omar and Lori Hansen. Regional storyteller Clive J. Romney joins the ranks as well, adding local flavor.

The schedule of when these storytellers will go on, in conjunction with the live music, is available here.[/vc_column_text][divider line_type=”No Line” custom_height=”30″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” overlay_strength=”0.3″][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” width=”1/1″ tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”][image_with_animation image_url=”12951″ alignment=”” animation=”Fade In” box_shadow=”none” max_width=”100%”][vc_column_text]Local folk band Malarkey[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

The Artists

There will be many artists coming from surrounding regions in southeast Idaho to present their wares at the festival. As a large supporter of the arts, Rexburg is proud and glad to host these talented individuals and their work for the world to see.

A few of the artists coming will be Crazy Woman Creek, Renae Hill Fine Art, RGD Design, and Ashley Delong. You can see a sample of their work on the festival’s website.[/vc_column_text][divider line_type=”No Line” custom_height=”30″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” overlay_strength=”0.3″][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” width=”1/1″ tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”][vc_column_text]

Sacred Stories and Music

Although not a part of the August 19th festivities, the festival will pick up again Sunday night at the Tabernacle Civic Center. From 7:00-8:30 p.m. Sunday evening, there will be a Sacred Stories and Music night. Don’t miss out on this additional family event the day after the festival.[/vc_column_text][divider line_type=”Full Width Line” line_thickness=”1″ divider_color=”default” custom_height=”75″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” overlay_strength=”0.3″][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” width=”1/1″ tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”][vc_column_text]We are very excited for the Teton Storytelling & Arts Festival. It is an amazing opportunity not just for locals, but for out-of-towners to get a flavor of what we’re all about here in Rexburg.

The event will run from 9:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Riverside Park. To assist in bringing people to the park, a free shuttle will run on Saturday from two parking lots on 7th South.

Come enjoy some first-rate storytelling, art, and music with us![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
