It’s safe to say that after the turkey dinner on Thursday, your focus will shift to the Black Friday deals. Black Friday is like the motherland calling us home (if you’re an obsessive shopper). But really, no one can resist a good deal, whether you’re a frequent shopper or not. Black Friday shopping is known for its crazy lines out of stores, products running out of stock, and crowds that turn into mobs. Why do so many people go? It’s as simple as this: for the fun of it! Black Friday is actually a public holiday in some states.
Are you ready to take on Black Friday? Follow these tips to have a less stressful shopping experience.
Stick to a budget
Leave the cards at home. If you’re trying to stick to a budget, cash is the way to go. If not, pack ‘em all! A good way to happily return home at the end of the night (or morning) is to know you didn’t overspend. Choose a price range in advance and stick to it!
Ask about their return policy
If you’re really wanting to buy something but not super sure if you’ll like it when the hype of the day leaves, be sure to ask about the return policy. This will save you from future disappointment. Think about getting gift receipts as well, at least you could exchange it for something else!
Sign up for emails in advance
This is a hack that not many people know of. Signing up for emails the week before Black Friday will get you the exclusive deals that the public will not have.
Have a backup plan of what you want
Picture yourself shopping through your favorite store, with 4,000 of your closest friends. How lovely. Don’t have your mind made up on purchasing one specific thing. You may be setting yourself up for disappointment.
