The Idaho Centennial Carousel will open for the summer this Friday.
The City of Rexburg has planned the Free Carousel Summer Kick Off scheduled from 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, May 25, at the carousel located in Porter Park.
The kick-off will feature free carousel rides, a petting zoo, splash park, bounce house village, balloon twister, carnival games and the Farmer’s Market.
This carousel is a major attraction in Rexburg. According to Rexburg.org, it is the “jewel of Porter Park.”
The Idaho Centennial Carousel is the only functioning antique wooden carousel in the state. It is also one of only 170 antique wooden carousels in the country.
The carousel will remain open Monday-Saturday from 12 to 7 p.m. between Memorial and Labor Day.
General admission during the summer will cost $1.25 per ride, in addition to concessions that will be available for purchase.
