The City of Rexburg is wasting no time in kicking off the Christmas holidays. On Saturday, November 25th, the Rexburg Festival of Lights will light up Center Street and usher in the season.
There will first be a ribbon-cutting at 4:45 p.m. on Center Street behind the Romance Theater to make the kickoff official. The fun will really begin, however, at 5:00 p.m. with the arrival of music and other festivities. Local choirs will hit all the favorites and, of course, a Christmas light show will make the night come alive.
Most importantly, Santa Claus will make his first public appearance of the year at the Festival of Lights. He’s coming a long way to ride in a fire truck and greet all the good children of Rexburg. You can expect this special treat at 6:00 p.m. Suffice it to say, you won’t want to miss this inaugural tradition.
Of course, this is just the beginning. Starting with Saturday’s events, festival light shows will continue every day through January 2nd. These shows will run every half hour from 6:00 p.m. to midnight these days, and you’d better believe that there will be specially-themed shows every weekend.
If you are still in town this Thanksgiving weekend, the Rexburg Festival of Lights is the perfect place for you and your family to be. We’ll see you there!
