If you’ve been following Rexburg news as of late, you’re probably at least vaguely aware of one of the more exciting recent developments. The Hickory has moved to a newer, bigger, and better location!

The Hickory in Rexburg has changed locations to accommodate more seating.

What’s The Hickory?

The Hickory is a family-owned restaurant that opened in November of 2012.  On their website, it says their goal was to provide jobs for their family and others while serving good home-cooked food.  The Hickory is known for its smoked steaks, and delicious brisket and ribs.  Other menu items range from pulled pork nachos to BBQ Bacon Burgers and fresh homemade style soups.  And don’t forget about their specialty sodas, flavored lemonades and root beer floats! The options are many and the quality is top notch!

Where’d they go?

If you’ve stopped by The Hickory on Main street recently, you may have been a little confused!  They have had much local support and success and now they are on to bigger and better things.  Just this week, they closed the location on Main Street and reopened on 2nd East next to Costa Vida and Fat Cats.  This used to be a Rue 21 location which closed down last year, one of 400 other locations across the country.

The Hickory converted the old clothing store into a custom-built restaurant with a modern but rustic, cozy feel.  This location has a much bigger guest capacity, a non-alcoholic bar, and tons of chalk style wall art. Stephanie, the manager said, “We feel this location will be better for the community due to its central location and more parking.”
