You can control your assignments, grades, and, sometimes your sleep. Another thing you can control is what you put in your body![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” overlay_strength=”0.3″][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” width=”1/1″ tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”][image_with_animation image_url=”13357″ alignment=”” animation=”Fade In” box_shadow=”none” max_width=”100%”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” overlay_strength=”0.3″][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” width=”1/1″ tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”][vc_column_text]The easiest way to stay fed and satisfied may be a school dining plan, but a dining plan is not for everyone, depending on what school you go to or preference of meals you have. Freshman 15 does not have to be a thing. Cooking in college may not always be ideal because of schedules or even the amount of desired effort, but it can be more cheap, more fun, and more beneficial![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” overlay_strength=”0.3″][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” width=”1/1″ tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”][vc_column_text]

COOKING IS BETTER

Cooking in college is better with some basic nutrition knowledge. Know what you’re putting in your body. What you eat can reflect how you perform in your daily studies and activities. Cooking in the beginning of the week is also a great way to make sure you eat every day of the week. Leftovers should become favorites. Meal prepping can give you more time to do other things on the days you need your time the most.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” overlay_strength=”0.3″][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” width=”1/1″ tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”][image_with_animation image_url=”13356″ alignment=”” animation=”Fade In” box_shadow=”none” max_width=”100%”][vc_column_text]

BUDGET

Being a college student myself, I have hands-on experience with grocery shopping and spending WAY too much than I should. Budgeting is a great way to make sure you’re getting the biggest bang for your buck.

The most important step to not overspend is making a grocery list. Only go by the list.  Maybe something foreign to the list, like a box of Poptarts, randomly and unexpectedly (or purposefully) will show up in your cart. This will happen occasionally, but should be kept to a minimum. Proceed and continue with the list. Stick to the list.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” overlay_strength=”0.3″][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” width=”1/1″ tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”][image_with_animation image_url=”13354″ alignment=”” animation=”Fade In” box_shadow=”none” max_width=”100%”][vc_column_text]

EVERYONE CAN COOK

Realize that you are capable of more than you think. When it comes to cooking in college, the internet is your best friend. It’s true, cooking can be a hassle sometimes. If you mix up tablespoons with teaspoons, then your cookies can end up being 10x saltier than desired.

Read through a recipe and do your best. Improvise when you don’t want to get seven specific ingredients that a recipe calls for—like kosher salt, or free-range chicken breast. Use your normal salt and whatever kind or part of chicken you have. Make do with what you have. Seasonings also go a long way. Pick a few of your favorites, and every meal will be the best.[/vc_column_text][divider line_type=”Full Width Line” line_thickness=”1″ divider_color=”default” custom_height=”50″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” overlay_strength=”0.3″][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” width=”1/1″ tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”][vc_column_text]Building a short list of recipes is the first step into figuring out how and what you want to cook for the semester.  Grocery shopping with lists will not only teach you how to budget, but also help you make a successful meal, a step up from a package mix with “just add water.”[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
