There will be no greater way to “experience Rexburg” than to spend Saturday, Sept. 16 with the entire community.

Experience Rexburg is gonna be awesome!

Sample Rexburg is teaming up this year with the City of Rexburg Heritage Festival. Together, they will form the 2nd annual Experience Rexburg festival, “celebrating our heritage.” Events span from Porter Park, to in front of Hemming Village to the College Ave playing fields.

This event aims to celebrate the contributions of both students and community members. For years, they have worked in tandem, adding to the growth and heritage of Rexburg. To celebrate, there will be live music, games, giveaways, food, and much more. It will be an amazing event that showcases the abundant talent and spirit of Rexburg.

The Experience Rexburg Schedule

The event will informally start in the morning. This will be the time for businesses to set up their booths and marks the opening of the Sample Rexburg portion.

Every good event needs an inaugural, official commencement. Ours will happen at the Porter Park Beehive Pavilion at noon; at this time, Mayor Jerry Merrill will kick off the event with the “mayor’s welcome.”

At 12:30 p.m., activities will begin at the College Ave playing fields. Later in the afternoon, at 3 and 4 p.m. respectively, will be the Chili Cook-Off and Tractor Parade. Also, at 4, the first 500 people to take advantage of it will enjoy a free potato bar.

Local bands will perform at Experience Rexburg.

The event will culminate with a free concert at 7.p.m. at the Beehive Pavilion. This is the “Rexburg Unplugged” contribution you may be familiar with from years past. Local bands will have the opportunity to perform for the community.

Be sure to stop by the many booths and businesses that will be at Porter Park. Spin wheels, play games, enter drawings and come out with your pockets bulging. Explore Rexburg will be there too, be sure to come by and say hi!

See you there?

You can learn more about this event by RSVP-ing at the Experience Rexburg Facebook event page.

Whether you are a student or a local, this event will have something for everyone. Invite your friends to come, and make plans to “experience Rexburg” on Sept. 16.
