Commanding leads, a disappointing double-header, and lots of rain. Though an apt description for this past week’s varsity baseball experience, it fails to match the excitement of watching our boys battle elements and some worthy foes. Here’s how things played out:

Madison

This week’s record:

Season record: (2-4)

That’s right, the ‘dash.’ All three of Madison’s games against Bonneville — including a doubleheader on Friday — were rained out and left many players and fans disappointed.

However, with our hopes that the weather will clear up this week and vigorous practice on the part of the Bobcats, the stage is set for a new, fantastic week of baseball. Three games against Hillcrest (one on Thursday, a doubleheader on Friday) will welcome our Bobcats back to the field. Make sure you go cheer them on!

Sugar-Salem

Our Diggers welcomed the American Falls Beavers at a home game on Thursday — and swiftly beat them with a 15-run lead. Unfortunately, the celebration for our neighbors to the north ended there; a doubleheader at Marsh Valley proved too much for our boys as they fell at 3:00’s game 12-2 and again at 5:00 5-4 from a late Eagles run.

This week begins with a non-league away game against Rigby today at 3:30 p.m. They will then play two as-yet undetermined teams at the Tony Hansen Memorial Complex in Preston.
