On Tuesday, March 27, the Innovation Collective and the University of Idaho will bring an app development show to Rexburg. Hosted by the City of Rexburg and the Research and Business Development Center, this “Inspire Idaho” initiative aims to inspire new education and economic growth.
The Inspire Idaho team welcomes are all willing to participate to join in receiving hands-on demos with app software. These include Swift, XCode, and Playground. Participants will also learn to write basic code to control Sphero Robots as a fun, interactive activity.
As part of a 20-city tour through Idaho, this initiative by University of Idaho and Innovation Collective is a great way for Rexburgonians to learn from some of the country’s top industry experts. Not only will there be members of these groups, but also experts trained in Swift, Apple’s programming language.
“This is a great opportunity for the community,” says Scott Johnson, Rexburg’s Director of Economic Development. “I encourage college and high school students, as well as members of the community, to attend this event.”
The event is open to the public and free of charge. There will be two sessions on Tuesday, one from 7:30-10 a.m., and the other from 10-11:30 a.m. It will take place on the third floor of the Northpoint commercial building.
